CAPS
The
Community Assistance Program for Seniors (CAPS) is an adult day program that
provides a safe, positive, caring alternative to nursing home care, for those
who do not need 24-hour skilled nursing.
CAPS can be beneficial for seniors with Alzheimer’s disease and other
forms of dementia. CAPS also serves those with
Parkinson’s disease or other conditions that can cause an elder to be
cognitively impaired, frail, or unsafe at home alone. This program is specifically designed to help
members stay mentally and physically active, reduce isolation, improve health,
and prevent the unnecessary decline of abilities. CAPS supports caregivers
and families by providing needed respite and a variety of social, educational,
and referral services. At CAPS,
the goal is for all seniors to be treated with dignity and respect, and to
enjoy a high quality of life. We offer
appropriate activities, caring companionship, and responsible supervision in a
warm, friendly setting.
