SUBSTANCE AND ALCOHOL USE
and
MEDICATION MANAGEMENT
The Substance and Alcohol Use and Medication
Management Program provides education, prevention and treatment services for
older adults at risk of substance abuse, problem drinking and/or in need of
counseling and support regarding medication. Older adults who are affected by
substance and alcohol use by family members are also served. The goal is harm
reduction and emotional stability. This program is sponsored by The Center for
Aging Resources.
· In-home
psychotherapy for frail seniors
· Outpatient
psychotherapy for older adults

Coordination of
care with other involved agencies and limited case management.
·
Psychological and
neuropsychological assessments
·
Community
outreach, support groups, information, and referrals
·
Limited
psychiatric consultation
HOURS AVAILABLE
The
Center is open Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Appointments
are available by arrangement in clients' homes or at the Center for Aging
Resources.
WHO MAY PARTICIPATE?
Adults 55 years old and older who are at risk
of, or who are affected by family members’ problematic substance and alcohol.
HOW DO I PAY?
Services are available on a sliding fee scale
for low income seniors and are funded through the Short-Doyle plan of the
County of Los Angeles Medi-Care, and other insurances.
